An excellent example of an approximately 6-year-old skull. The age of the skull was determined by reference to the natural bone specimen. All the deciduous (baby teeth) are present in the upper and lower jaws. The anterior, posterior, sphenoidal and mastoidal fontanelles are all closed. The spheno-occipital synchondrosis and the calvarial sutures are all open. It is not currently possible to reliably determine sex with child remains. This serves as an exceptional teaching model in the laboratory.
