FIELD TRIP FUNDING FOR OKLAHOMA EDUCATORS

OBJECTIVES
- Provide access to educational opportunities to under-resourced schools and communities.
- Create a learning experience for students to explore animal diversity, anatomy, and biology.
OVERVIEW
SKELETONS: Museum of Osteology will be offering 1 free field trip to 12 qualifying applicants. The museum will not cover the cost of transportation but will waive admission fees for up to 25 students and 2 chaperones. Students will have full access to the museum gallery, scavenger hunts, and a five-minute introduction and Q&A session with museum staff.
Bringing more than 25 students? Additional students are welcome at the $8 group rate, and you can add an education program to your visit for $125 per program.

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a public-school educator (PreK-12th), including public charter schools.
- Must be located in Oklahoma.
- Must not have had a visit to the museum within the past school year. This applies to the educator, not the whole school.
More than one educator from the same school can receive funding.
FUNDING PRIORITIES
Depending on the volume of applications, SKELETONS: Museum of Osteology will prioritize funding for under-resourced, Title I schools.
HOW TO APPLY
Complete the funding application and upload a letter addressing financial need and field trip opportunity with the application.
FUNDING APPLICATIONThe application opens Monday, February 1st, 2027, at 8:00 am.
FUNDING PROCESS
- Educator completes the application and provides all required information.
- Educator receives a confirmation email and awaits notification of award or declination. (If you do not receive a confirmation or have questions, email the education department at education@skeletonmuseum.com.)
- Application closes Friday, April 2nd, 2027, at 5:00 pm.
- The museum education department reviews applications.
- Notifications are sent to applicants on Monday, May 3rd, 2027.
- Funding recipients must submit a field trip request for the 2027-2028 school year using the Field Trip Request Form and must note in the Comments section that they are an Indy's Explorers recipient.
- The museum education department confirms or reaches out with questions and completes booking.
- The educator and their class attend the field trip.
